It is 5 years since we sang at Drum so it was really lovely to come back and to sing to a packed hall. With a large number of the choir able to attend, we really filled the hall with sound. Three of our number were brave enough to bring out the tap shoes for a Gershwin number. A surprise for the guests who were highly appreciative.

A few choir members had the fun of singing for and with the Golden Memories Club at the Watford Football Club on Monday the 13th of March. We revisited golden oldies and enjoyed the great hospitality. Looking forward to a return booking.

Fabulous Time at the Christmas Concert. A Lovely Song by Abba, The beautiful “In the Bleak Midwinter” by Gustav Holtz, and once again the Junior Phoenix choir joining us. We also raised over £500 for Watford New Hope Trust.

A great day. A chance to meet other choirs and to show our style of singing. Not only that we got great feedback from the judges.

Summer Concert in St Mary’s Church Watford on July the 8th. Our first public performance of our James Bond Theme Fest.

Rickmansworth Festival on the 20th of May. We had to compete with the wind and rushing water but it was great to sing at the Rickmansworth Festival again especially as it was a warm and sunny day.

Rickmansworth High Street 23rd of April 2023. We donned the Waterproofs, styled the keyboard with a shower curtain to protect it from the rain, and prepared to sing out on the damp and rainy Sunday to entertain the French Market stall holders and their customers.

Our Christmas concert this year was held on December the 3rd at St Mary’s Church, Watford. It is a magnificent venue with a lovely acoustic. Both the audience and ourselves had a great time. The children from the Watford Central Primary School (now nicknamed the Junior Phoenix choir) performed a lovely set to the delight of their proud parents. The evening was a wonderful way for all of us to start the festive season.

The choir were honoured to be part of the NHS West Hertfordshire Trust’s 2022 Memorial service on November the 20th 2022 for those who have unfortunately died in the last 12 months in the Trust’s Hospitals. It was a very moving event for all involved.

Pump House Theatre, Watford. Joined the Open Mike Event on the 10th of October celebrating Black History Month. Wonderful night with the choir joining Alex Williams and others in just having fun in singing and performing. Our rendition of Summertime was appreciated.

Bandstand Concert – Sunday the 10th of July. On a hot day the shade provided by the Cassiobury Park bandstand allowed the choir to sing out in support of the Watford Rotary Club who were holding a fundraising event for the charities they support.

Summer Concert – Saturday the 3rd of July. The choir invited the Watford Central Primary School’s Choir Club to be part of the event. The children performed their selection enthusiastically. The audience enjoyed both the the eclectic mix of songs from the adult choir and the children’s contribution. It was a wonderful evening of singing.

Rickmansworth Festival – May the 21st 2022. Singing on the banks of the Grand Union Canal.

Rickmansworth High Street the 3rd of April 2022. The location was not glamorous and the temperature was low but the reception from the shoppers on the high street was warm as we held our first entertainment for the year.

Covid style ventilation meant the audience had to stay well rugged up but that did not stop us all enjoying our first Christmas concert as the Watford Phoenix Choir
